Well, drat. Jimmy Smith is now reporting it's a done deal, he reaffirmed his commitment & shut down recruiting.

The fact that he signed financial aid papers means he plans to be an early enrollee. So he'll be enrolled a month before signing day.

It is not binding, but still not a good sign.

LSU has recruited him hard but he has always wanted to play for ND and the fact that LSU has even gotten him to consider LSU speaks very highly of Les and LSU recruiting. It's not over but if he came to LSU it would have been one of the biggest flips ever knowing his love for ND.

I can't find any fault at all with how this kid has conducted himself. He always showed respect to his home state and school, he had a dream school in mind, was up front about it, and didn't go to an SEC rival.

Notre Dame is a great academic school with great tradition and they have a certain family attitude about their program that is really easy to get wrapped up in.

It really hurts to lose him, but this kid did things right. He's on the complete opposite end of the spectrum from shitheads like Landon Collins, Willis and Noil.

I'm usually what would be labeled as a "posi-tiger" or sunshine pumper. But, I have to agree with this statement. Tillery's comments on his recruitment make me sick. Not at Tillery of course but at the lack of effort in making him a huge priority. The blame falls on stud but the head coach and recruiting coordinator have to take some too in this case. Unacceptable.

Good luck to Tillery. I appreciate his honesty as a fan and the way he handled his entire recruitment. Extremely classy young man and family.

The kid enjoyed the process but stuck with his commitment. Cheers to him and to his success at Notre Dame

However ... If I am an offensive tackle and want to play early ... I would seriously give lsu a look ... I think we pull a big out of state prospect or two

I also think we lose Womack ... I think we lost him when he decided not to enroll early

I dont' think it is binding, but it likely is a statement from him to ND.

Agreed, I think it's a MAJOR, MAJOR recruiting coup if we hold on to him the other way big time programs are after him.

You're absolutely correct. I'm just pissed about the actions of Stud, or lack of.

You are one dumb motherfricker if you think this situation is remotely similar to those situations. They are all La players that decided leave La, and that's the ONLY thing they have in common. Tillery handled this with as much class as you could possibly ask for from a senior in HS, and if you think anything differently, you are wrong.
