Don't blame just stud. Recruiting Coordinator should've been on top of this.

That's pretty amazing considering LSU offered him before Notre Dame. Or are we to believe Miles is delivering offers via telepathy these days?

Jeez that dude is terrible. Outside of some catastrophic meltdown at ND, there is no "potentially" for Tillery, he is going to Notre Dame.

As much as I hate stud for being a fat fricking lazy slob, it's just as much on Les. You can't let a guy on your staff get away with simply not recruiting, contacting recruits the caliber of Robinson and Tillery. His fatass shouldn't have even been allowed to make the flight home from the Capital One game. He stayed on that last year for the check.

You are one dumb motherfricker if you think this situation is remotely similar to those situations. They are all La players that decided leave La, and that's the ONLY thing they have in common. Tillery handled this with as much class as you could possibly ask for from a senior in HS, and if you think anything differently, you are wrong.

I think he's just talking about the fact that they are in the mindset exactly as you see them. Tillery said "ND ND ND" and so it was, he is going to ND. Landon Collins, Noil, Willis never said "LSU LSU LSU". They never hinted at anything, and so that proved to be exactly what LSU was to them, a non-factor and never considered.

ETA: Basically, just never trying to read between the lines. What you read is it. Unless there is actually something said, then don't assume it.

What should the recruiting coordinator have done? You're telling me dumb arse Studrawa didnt know about the #2 OT in the state, and nationally recognized OT at the high school level? He needed to be told that guy was good and was needed at LSU?

And we live in a period where the OT has been glorified to a level of importance that has never before been experienced?

And this guy was a fricking offensive lineman himself? And coaches this very position? Like frick geez.

Geezus, how much does Frank Wilson have to spell it out? Stud bombed it. Point blank bombed it. Was probably bombing on the toilet after barbecue feasts instead of recruiting Tillery.

Stud deserves bashing, but y'all are getting out of hand.

quote:

"When I was on campus two months ago, I talked to Coach Miles and Coach Stud," he said. "They are all great guys and great coaches, obviously. They're cool people to be around."

This quote is from early June of 2013 -- before he committed anywhere.

I've maintained distance from posting in the "Tillery: I never heard from LSU OLine coach" threads because I felt there is no point.

Stud was fired for failing in the recruiting game, but the notion he never picked up the phone ... Come on, y'all.

Cue the, "So you're calling Tillery a liar?" Comments.

Totally unacceptable and there is little accountability from the head coach. Stud should have been gone long before his eventual exit.

I don't see him coming to LSU. If his heart is here he would not have filled any papers there. He has to know by now where he is going.

Guys, try to remember this is not your ordinary recruit. I mean one of his official visits was to Dartmouth. He is super intelligent and ND has been his dream school for most of his life. I don't think he looks at playing football in college the way most recruits do, where they base what they can achieve on the football field as an important factor. This kid seems to look at it like he is using football to get into a school where he can achieve the most. He will be successful with or without football. Now if you had an academic scholarship to either ND or LSU where would you go?

I remember when all of you jackasses said I was wrong about Tillery. He LOVES Notre Dame. I was right, all y'all jackasses were wrong.

Very sad we didn't get him though.

And you morons who are bitching about our recruiting staff - don't. Read any interview with Tillery. The kid grew up a Notre dame fan. His favorite movie is fricking Rudy. Iirc he said getting the ND offer was the happiest moment of his life. This was over the very second that Notre dame called him with an offer. Nothing we could have done, though apparently we put in a heroic effort.

There is still time. Tilley didn't sign anything binding from my understanding and isn't he visiting LSU tomorrow? I'm not saying we will lure him away from ND, but he's still in the mix for LSU.

stop blaming stud. hen has been gone for a year. grimes has been after tiller for a year. tillery should have just said that he wanted to go to nd. all this talk about stud never recruiting him is bs on tillery's part. he had a whole year to consider LSU and went to several games. stud should have contacted him but it would not have mattered.

these recruiting gaffes are all on les. first, cooper didn't want to recruit and now stud. les let this shite happen to long and now we are losing recruits because of it.

It's over, considering the new rules implemented when a kid signs financial aid papers.

We've been on Tillery long enough.

This is a case of a kid choosing Notre Dame over LSU.

I didn't read that it was financial aid papers. Sorry. That looks to be accurate though. Thanks.
