Are the animals harvested from these operations truly trophies, or are they merely large factories producing expensive wall decorations for those who can afford it?

I've never been to a high fence operation, but I've been in cow pastures, and I imagine it's the same as shooting cattle.

Probably somewhat easier to kill an animal but still an accomplishment. I personally would never shoot a deer inside of a fence, but i also have no hard feelings towards anyone who does.

Depends how many acres are high fence. 300 acres...... cheating, 10,000 acres..... pretty fair

Some places are just bought trophies while others are more of a hunting experience. I had a buddy who filmed a high fence hunt and they literally herded the animals (bison in this case) in front of the stand with a tractor.

I don't care who does and wouldn't hold it against someone but I wouldn't be proud of something I shot in a high fence. Just like I wouldn't be proud if a tuna I caught in a pool

They have a 2000 acre high fence a couple miles form where we hunt, every year they find these dead bucks that they have never seen on stand or on camera. So seems they can still hide somewhat.

Pretty much on par with anyone who fishes stocked ponds

ETA: I DO think that it's in some instances, but I'm not sure what those instances are.

I know some people that have high fenced property, 1000 acres roughly, and they have pictures of massive deer on camera that no one can ever seem to see on stand. Some high fences are different. I've heard of places that have all the deer named and know the each deer schedule down to the minute now that isn't hunting at all. I think it depends on the property.

Would you mount a bass that came out of a 20 acre lake?

To be honest, I wish few pieces of property around me were high fence, that way they can kill all the shitty deer they want and leave the rest alone.
