re: Let's talk about high fence hunting

I am going hunting on my company's ranch in Texas in a couple of weeks. There is a high fence around the property which is 60,000 acres. No one is putting a deer in front of you. The wildlife is free to roam and there is a large portion of the area that is not hunted at all. The terrain is varied with plenty of box canyons, ravines, plains, and terraces. It's not a killing trip. Plenty of people who go on the hunt do not kill anything. I have no issue hunting there and being proud of what I kill, if I even kill at all.

Yall act as if it takes zero ability to manage a heard even inside of a high fence. 1. Fence area. 2. Wait two years 3. ???? 4. Profit Now I have older deer that can't escape, no one else can shoot, have had no pressure on them and I probably have dropped some good feed on them the last two years. Doesn't really seem like rocket science. Exactly what else is there.
A lot

The guys in Texas laugh at all you silly fricks who spend hours and hours on public land to watch a deer who will probably be shot by some coonass fricktard the minute after you let him pass.
Also, this

Are your deer tranquilized, tagged, priced, and then shot? Because that's seemignly what the OB thinks is happening on every high fence property. Que Alx to come here and discredit any work that has been done.

I don't discredit the work. Work is irrelevant to whether or not it's hunting. We work pretty hard getting tame quail to fly in such a way so that we don't shoot each other. And you are so mad

I bet all these anti fence life folks spend hours on end clearing lanes, setting plots and filling feeders

Well, the non high fence hunters sure as hell aren't, because it's not their land to begin with.

All I know for sure is the does that came from inside a high fence taste exactly like the ones I kill on my unfenced lease

I've hunted lots of private land without a fence, so you're wrong.

I GUARANTEE you that more deer are being shot of truck beds in LA. The difference is some are mature deer and others are button bucks. Like I said, I don't lose any sleep over what anyone does with their own time or money, I'm just here to laugh at all the ignorant hunters who mock the high fence guys when they have never even seen the operation side of things or much less hunted on a fenced property.

Now if you'll all excuse me, I'm going to go start a thread on pen raised quail and watch Wick have a meltdown.
Without put and take quail, there would be very little quail hunting left in the US. Sucks, but better than nothing...

So what, they spend 20x the money and BAM it's automatically set up to hunt? Yeah okay bro keep thinking you do more work to shoot a pussy arse 70# deer.

guess at the end of the day, I should laugh at them, because I'm (a) not from Texas, and (b) have forgotten more about the swamp/woods/marsh than they'll ever know. Bummer.
Wut?

I've seen the operation side of things on non-fenced property. And with the amount of people saying they've hunted huge tracts of land inside a fence and not seen deer, I find it odd that I've been to more than one small tract of private, unfenced land where you see multiple deer every hunt.
Only difference is one is B&C eligible
