Looking at picking up a pair over the holidays, possibly nikon, but I don't really know what I'm looking for.

I bought some red field rebels recently. I think they're a good buy.

Have had some $100 Leupold Yosemite for a few years now and love them. Just ordered some Vortex 12x50 though and can't wait to try them out.

What do you consider to be a decent price? I bought some Leupold binoculars that were awesome and well worth the $350.00 I paid. Good binoculars are worth it if you use them.

I have requested a pair of Vortex Diamondback 8x40 for Christmas. They seem to have good reviews.

$200 range. Was looking at nikon prostaff 5 with 10x42 optics.

Highly reccomend the Nikons. Very bright optics and excellent warranty. Had an issue with one of the eyecups well past warranty and Nikon fixed it, no charge.

The OB loves ford and Nikon. I can't take any suggestions I read here seriously.

Wel, I've owned a few different types of binoculars. I think at the price point the OP is looking at, the Nikons would be hard to beat.

OP look up Vortex and see what is in your price range. I doubt you'll find any with better reviews. I know several people who have gone from Nikon, Leupold, etc and said the Vortex are hands down better and you can't beat their warranty. I have a pair on the way and can't wait to get them.

Hey sloopy i'm a newbie here but have been stalking this board for awhile,
Just to let you know Dicks Sporting Goods has the nikon monarch 3's 10x42 for 199.98 not a bad bino
Or the monarch 5 10x42 for 249.98 and there is a coupon on the net for 20 bucks off a 100 spent
The monarch 5 is an excellent bino!
Good luck

I own one Nikon scope and have shot plenty of them. I'm always. tremendously underwhelmed with the product.
Same with Ford. Can't own a truck that squats to the knockers when you put a four wheeler in the back.
