All inclusive does not mean it is a good deal
Maybe get a small cabin in the smokey mountains or a condo by the beach so you can cook most of your meals.
Go at off times.
Check VRBO.com for deals and try to beg for better pricing

Translation the wife wants an exotic beach vacation? The cheapest way to do that is to drive to Florida. If this isn't the beach vacation you're looking for, then you're probably going to have to open up the wallet a bit.

Cancun? I don't think you need a passport.

I would like to take my wife, son, and son's gf to a place where I don't have to do anything but relax and get drunk. I would like to pay one price for all of it. I do not want to go on a cruise because I've been on plenty already. not wanting to have to get passports either. I don't care if it's beach or mountains. can be something romantic I suppose.

For the real cheap arse experience, find a resort somewhere that will let you stay for cheap if you agree to listen to a stupid timeshare sales pitch. Beg them to throw in some free meals too.

There are all inclusive resorts in the states, but they don't look like the shite you see in the Caribbean. And are probably not nearly as cheap. More of a luxury here, whereas it's pretty much the opposite other places.

Have you thought about a trip to Yellowstone or even one of the ski resort towns....even if you don't ski, most have activities like snow mobile riding, etc.....
