miles has earned the right to bring us back
I always loved Cholly Mac. As the energy left his coaching and football passed him by, his supporters always looked at the body of his work and defended his right to "bring LSU back." But that didn't happen. Of course, that was a different time.

Now we're in a similar situation. I do truly like CLM as a person and do salute his many achievements over the past 10 years. He has surpassed my expectations in some ways. But he also hit far lower points than I would have expected, and IMO has failed to even maintain the energy of the LSU teams he fielded earlier in his tenure. Since you made no comment on the numbers of regression I previously posted, I assume you aren't going to argue those facts.

So let's go back to sentiment. CLM has "earned the right" to bring LSU back? Ok. How long does he get that blank check? Cholly Mac had an unhappy few last years as his opponents and supporters fought tooth and nail over the same thing. LSU did not rise to some new heights and it was clear, in the end, that the energy was gone.

People with eyes to see today should be instructed.

We have a chance at 9 wins while playing in the sec west.
We just finished 14th.
Let that sink in. Miles has created a program at lsu where 9 wins is considered bad.

Wow. Since his hire no power 5 program has more wins
No program has been ranked in the top 25 more weeks.
No program has beaten more ranked teams
No program has a better ooc record.

He didnt reach your expectations?

His lowest win total was with a freshman qb after having kicked his qb of the future off the team.

He deserves the benefit of the doubt and given a chance next year to do much better, but if it's the same shite next year, then there really is no defending the notion that "the game has passed him by"

Let this sink in. 9 wins in Cholly Mac's day would have been astronomical. 9 wins today is already a drop-off from the 10 win levels he had been maintaining. Which is to say he isn't maintaining. Can he turn it around? Maybe. I'd be more optimistic about that possibility if he weren't already in his 10th year. Look at Bobby Bowden. Look at Joe Pa (before the scandal). Look at Cholly Mac. Look at Mack Brown. Look at Frank Beamer. There is a glass ceiling. CLM has hit it.

If lsu wins out and gets 9 winsn then the game has passed him by?

Im telling you no coach outside of Saban and Meyer can reach the goals lsu fans set.

Cmac didnt coach in todays sec west. In the last 11 years 8 sec west teams have played for the national title and two other sec teams that played for the title in that span were florida. Mac's sec is nothing close to todays sec.

We are unranked today.

Which ranked teams beat us this year? Which unranked or lower ranked teams beat us this year?

Great! I like that. And that gets us to the SECCG, how?

He has to improve against the SEC west. While it is a tall order considering the depth in our division, he cannot continue to lose 2-3 each year to conference opponents. The OOC record is nice and all, but doesn't get LSU to Atlanta and eventually the playoff. 9-10 win seasons are great, but I want to get back on top at some point, What Bama is doing is an aberration and dynasties like that come along once a generation, Bama just got lucky enough to catch the Bear and Saban at the right times. Comparing Les to Saban is foolish, Saban is the best coach in college football.
