Depends on the store. I have no problem with truck stops and convenience stores being opened and grocery stores before noon or fast food places opening later in the day. Just because it is a holiday it doesn't mean the world stops. Ppl are still going to travel and truckers will still be working. Now retail stores being opened does grind my gears.

Personally I think it is disgusting that other individuals can't be with their families on the holiday.

They can always change jobs, some ppl like an excuse to get away from the family.

Hilarious that some people actually think the whole world comes to a stop because they're going to spend a special day overeating and watching football.

It's just another day. The world cannot completely shut down for holidays.

If I need something I am glad it is open.. otherwise don't care. It is commerce...Filling a need...at least the store wasn't looted and burned up out of ignorance...wrong thread??

Don't blame the stores. Blame the idiots that shop on Thanksgiving. No shoppers, no stores open.

Between my Military service, and my profession of being an ER nurse, I have missed more holidays than I can count. Hell, this year I will be working on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and New Years. Life doesn't stop because it's a holiday. I signed up knowing this, and I accept it.

If a person wants to have a job where they have every holiday off, they should try to find one that coincides with their level of skills and education. If your level of skill and education only allows you to work as an associate at a wal-mart store, then it is up to you to change that.

I'm flying in from offshore this morning. I'm glad some places are open, cause not everyone has big family's to eat with. Nothing wrong with fast food places being open.

Everything should shut down. The power company, the police, hospitals, etc.

Sucks for you. I get time and a half today. Plus if I end up not going in, I still get paid for 8 hours
