This, or a beagle. We lost our Red Heeler this year and she was hell on moles. Al of the sudden the beagle is picking up where she left off. Plus, he likes to bring them to the back door to show off!

This is the only answer.

Will kill ever mole before a blue healer or beagle get started.

Good call. They are also good at getting rid of unwanted relatives, door to door salesmen, and large animals.

I put this on the OT, but I figured I'd put it here for you also.

You probably only have 1, maybe 2 moles in your yard. They are extremely territorial and will actually kill each other. But 1 mole can dig a metric shite ton of tunnels during a day. Metric shite ton is a scientific term.

With that being said, don't waste your time on gimmicks. Get one of the plunger style spear traps from Lowes/Home Depot (or another store).

Before you place it in the ground, you have to find an active tunnel. Do this by taking a stick and poking a 1" hole in the top of some of the tunnels. Mark them to know where you poked the holes. Check it later or the next day and see if the hole is no longer there (mole dug through the tunnel and pushed dirt back up where the hole was). Once you find the active tunnel(s), place the trap there. It shouldn't take long for the trap to catch the mole.

Here's the important part. Once the plunger sets and the spear strikes the mole, make sure your kids or wife are not around. Because sometimes that mole isn't dead when you dig it up and have to wack it several times with the shovel. Moles are cute, and kids might not want to see it getting destroyed by the shovel. And make sure the shovel is sharp or else when you stab the mole it just sinks into the ground. Then you have to dig it up and keep doing it until it's dead.

Good luck and happy hunting!

Poison your yard for bugs to kill their food source and they will leave.

If you don't have a terrier or dont want to trap them. Castor oil works the best but you have to reapply depending on rainfall.

I live in Washington and it's against the law to trap them. I tried everything else and the castor oil is the only thing I've found to work.

I had some (or one) years ago.

I bought some sort of liquid from the Pest Stop Store. Seems like I connected it to water hose, sprayed (or flooded) the area.

Problem gone. (as best I can recall)

I have found this is the best way:

Mow area as low as possible, flattening all area.
Come back in about 2 hours with shovel
Watch very closely for any movement, ground being kicked up
Pounce on with shovel, remove mole and kill. Gotta be quick.
