It'd be like the shooting booth at the circus. I'd charge people to come shoot, too. Make a profit. I'd decorate it with signs to attract looters. Pick off those who enter.

Fill the interior with large rat snakes, sit in the back and watch the fun on the security monitors.

Close shop and move elsewhere, leaving those idiots wonder why there's no businesses around our "community"....

I would arm myself, and pray no one came.
So let's say someone breaks in, what are your legal rights to shoot? I assume most of them didn't have a weapon?

Move away forever.
I would intentionally seek out neighborhoods where riots were least likely to occur.

I assume it would be a lot better legally if you waited till they were in your store to shoot, correct?

Booby trap the place all Vietnam style and whatnot.

Neither. I'd have a sign made that reads WORKBOOT EMPORIUM and hang it over the regular store sign.

Also, plant some claymores.

As much as a pain for the business owners who suffered damages to all their hard earned work, I question our moral conscience, as we've deemed property more important that the equal protection of all of our citizens under the law.
Property > individuals ?
Food for thought.

Board up the doors, take an ax to the gas line and set an electric switch to arc once a window is broken. BOOOM..
Rioters gone and no one the wiser.

Don't want to get shot? Don't break into someone else's place of business.
Further, what does equal protection under the law have to do with it?

I'd be worried about boarding up in a shop, if the place is set on fire you're fricked. Make sure you have a fire escape route, then board up and let er rip

I would dig a HUGE tiger pit right inside the front door of my shop. In the pit, I'd put Punji Sticks, snakes, and maybe an actual tiger.

Depends on the individual. One that riots and loots and burns my shite down? Yes, property >>>> looting thugs, every time. Especially if that property is what supports and feeds my family. Kill em all and let the devil sort em out.

"Property" in this case is someone's livelihood. As others have pointed out, there is no insurance for this type of damage, so it's either defend the business or go bankrupt.
And the looters seem to be valuing property over life, far more than armed store owners.
