Less than two generations ago. This Ferguson shite is sad, but do you honestly expect everyone to live in harmony, without judgement, just a short time after freedom was granted? As much as I disagree with these uneducated acts, it's more of a pride thing because let's face it...we are not equal. We are still fighting a battle. Sad but true. Modern society should advance faster, but let us remember it was not that long ago that race determined what bathroom people used.

Prayers for all involved and affected in Ferguson. Easier said than done, but when in doubt, be the bigger person.

I really don't know where to begin here. The ending is possibly the most disturbing.

Who should have been the bigger person?

Unfortunately millions of African Americans believe that people should be judged not by the content of their character, but by the color of their skin.

And none of these thugs setting Fire to buildings tonight were around for that. I'd venture to say that their grandparents would be ashamed, because they endured true inequality and not perceived inequality. The whole "us against the world" mentality is unfounded, ignorant, and sickening.

A black man was elected president. Twice. Chew on that before you talk about inequality.

I agree. Young people shouldn't be attacking cops and expect to not get shot.

in the last 40 years we've produced a white guilt culture that has destroyed the black family and created an infrastructure of black entitlement

that's the problem -- not the civil war

We fought the Germans, Italians, and Japanese less than 70 years ago and we have been friends and allies with them for 60 or more years. Seems like it can be done if those that are 'oppressed' want it done. And don't give me the 'white people' excuse. The Japanese blow that out of the water.
