Disclaimer-- I suggested vaughns being that Kermit used to cook red beans and rice or bbq for Thursday night shows. He gave up the Thursday night slot to Cory Henry I think, and I'm not sure if they are still serving food.

Vaughans really doesn't serve food (but, I love the place) and they only have live music on Thurs. Mimis is hit or miss with music, thanks to the a-hole neighbors that sued them. Three Muses and Bacchanal are fantastic venues for both food and music; but, its hard as hell to get a table in either, but probably a better chance at Bacchanal since its 5 times as large as Three Muses. But, can't go wrong with either one.

It definitely is. Plus I wouldn't go there at night by myself/want to walk back to my car by myself in that area even though it's getting better.
It's a good place to check out when the weather is cool. It's miserable in the summer outside.

How is it hard to get to? I live across town and it isn't that bad. I can definitely see the point in not walking around there alone, but I'm guessing that you don't go to a bar by yourself, can you not get someone to walk you to your car? I've done it a few times out there.

Bacchanal is fine to get to - I live in walking distance and have never had an issue. F you people.
