Don't know if I like this for the Sox. 20 Million a year when on paper we have two maybe three solid infielders on the left side. Maybe he could play first as Napoli ages.
Does MSB think hes worth that 5 year/$95 Million?

Giants will match

Given his age and build, it appears a questionable move. But, I get it why Bost would make this move(his playoff clutchness)..
Red Sox, like NYY, playing with monopoly money, and many of their choices aren't built around regular season stat players that may disappear in playoffs(Kershaw, Arod sans Kate Hudson blowjobs in 2009,etc..)
Boston wants those hitters that live to elevate their game in October. St Louis and San Fran also similar in recent years with their moves..
It's the opposite of LAD, Detroit, Atl,etc..do in having many guys that retract and shrink under October's bright lights.

Giants offered 90 and Padres offered 100. A few articles are saying he won't play in San Diego for the extra 5 million and the Giants will let him walk.

I think it's reasonable.

Do the Giants have a minor leaguer ready to step up?

He was amazing in ws and they should match

Garin Cecchini from a Barbe spent last month of the season at 3rd. They really like him a lot but apparently think he's not quite ready yet. Wonder if they sign Sandoval if they may trade him to upgrade other positions. If he's not ready now he will be at some time this year barring an injury.

Panda to Boston and then take over DH next year when Ortiz retires

I think if Panda leaves, Buster Posey will move to 3rd base. He started out as a SS & they want to save his body from all the wear & tear of playing catcher when they have so much invested in him.

Cecchini is horrible defensively. He was an interesting prospect when he was keeping his strikeouts down and his BBs up. He has absolutely zero power.

Sox fan here. Don't want him for 20 mil/year.

Why would he move to third base? He is the best catcher in the league.
