Just look like a Coached team...We just look horrible. LSU has talent, and they do win with it, but execution, blocking, and just timing is so bad. Its just painful to watch...

I agree there are games that are painful to watch and this year is the worse of them, but as I stated, with the current contract and roll-over clause in it, we're just wasting our time. Miles is not going anywhere, BAD business decision.

17 million!!! That is what's estimated that LSU would owe Miles if they fired him.
This is a business, and firing him right now or even next year is a BAD business decision.

If LSU football is a business, than fans are customers.

If LSU football doesn't produce a better product, fans won't buy.

If fans won't buy, then the LSU football business will suffer.

Given that is the case, then consider $17m a business investment.

What was the roll over clause?

There is a limit on the number of years on a contract for state employees, an auto roll-over clause was put in Miles' contract. At the end of every year it automatically goes to a 4 or 5 year term, not sure which one. Basically, LSU would owe him the full term of his contract. All of it, not just the base salary.

It isn't MIles...it's LSU fans and the delusion that lives inside them.

One of the longest running jokes I have heard since I was a child about LSU fans FROM LSU fans is that their idea of a perfect season is undefeated, untied, unscored upon national championship that they fired their coach at the end of.

It isn't just LSU, it's the Saints as well. The most popular person in South Louisiana has almost exclusively been the backup quarterback and the next coach since the 60's.

Just shooting from the hip:

Serious contention for the SEC West title, and at least average and consistent QB play.

My real life experience is that (just a close guesstimate) 90% of the Tiger fans I'm around want Les gone now. The rant is far more positive about Les than what I'm hearing in person.

LSU fans are children. What does Miles need to gain back the fan base? Win a game or two. Rewind to the Ole Miss game and people were talking CFP and is this Miles' best coaching job ever. Basically Les will win a big game anD everything will be back to status quo.

Yeah, until it turned out that Ole Miss wasn't nearly as good as they were hyped to be and then we snatched defeat from the jaws of victory against Bama and had the most embarrassing performance since 1/9 by being shut out by a team with a 17-game SEC losing streak.

That might, you know, change perspectives a bit....

10-2 or better wins me back, because it means you are legitimately in the SEC West (and maybe national title race) into mid/late November. Worst case at 10-2 you make one of the major bowls.

9 regular season wins he stays but I won't be overly thrilled about the season

8 or less wins and it's time for a new leader.

2015 is do-or-die time for Miles IMO, and the powers that be at LSU need to make that clear to Miles.

The buyout($15 mil now and $12mil after next season) is not as big of a deal as everyone thinks, as it is paid out over the entire remaining term, not to mention decreased by ANY money he makes elsewhere while not coach at LSU (being on TV, coaching, speeches, etc)

Miles could win a NC and some of our fans would want him fired because they ran the ball too many times in the game and too many juniors go to the NFL.

Miles and Cameron should go to Michigan sooner rather than later.

Ole Miss can still win the west and go to the playoffs. Let's not discount that win just yet.

Everybody wants him gone. His only support is from a few nutty message board Sunshine Pumpers and "Program Worshipper" types. His ship has sailed until he makes the necessary and needed Offensive/QB corrections to turn things around. If his ego and stubbornness rule and he does nothing, he'll be gone after next season.

This.

You do realize that although a significant number of posters here feel the same way, that this sounds absolutely ridiculous, especially to every fan base in the country outside of the state of Alabama

There's some major factors that need to happen before Miles' seat gets warm:
1. Fall off in recruiting
2. Major defections of draft eligibles, or players transferring
3. Not winning easy games
4. Players giving up. [quote]

1. Recruiting has not fallen off, but we certainly are not recruiting (or developing) the right QB for Miles's offense.
2. The last 2 years, imo, LSU has been decimated by the NFL (and I can't blame them)
3. We lost to Arkansas. Enough said.
4. I don't know that they are or not. I'm sure some have and some won't.

I have never cared for Miles, but if the writing isn't already on the wall, someone should break out the crayons.

auburn loses Marshall, their RB, and at least 1 if not 2 of their WRs. Do you really think they will be top 2 in the conference next year

I guarantee their offense won't turn into this boring garbage that LSUs is whenever a qb departs

Does anyone know who representing LSU negotiated this assanine contract. Who in their right mind would negotiate a contract supposedly representing LSU with such a huge buyout and a rollover. I know Alleva tends to be an idiot on somethings , not all things but is he an attorney? Is he the one who negotiated this for LSU. If he did, then he needs to be fired today.Does any one know , was it Nathan Fisher or does he just rep the players when they get in trouble. Just asking because this is the worst one sided contract ive ever heard of. And to answere the OP question, definitely contend for the West and look like a somewhat well oiled machine which hasn't happened during Miles' tenure other than 2011 and even that had a few headscratching moments when he went back to JJ. Also , I agree the Rant has Miles biggest supporters. Everyone Ive talked to other than opposing fans feel he should have been gone a couple of years back.
