If and only if the kids are taken from her. But taking kids from a parent as irresponsible as her rarely has any positive effect.

It absolutely exists. He's a great guy and hard worker but has no concept of responsibility or money. I tried to sit down with him one day and help him understand savings, expenses, etc. It wasn't gonna happen.

I make a decent living with lots of investment properties and expenses. This guy burned through cash twice as fast as me and my wife combined.

Honestly, I'd like to see the school system start hammering this into low income kids heads at an early age. Maybe some will overcome their parents bad habits eventually. We had those stupid anti-drug classes in PE. Why not this?

She will not be eligible for government assistance, I would think. If you make $114k, even if you're black, there's not many programs out there. Plus she'll now be serving jail time, and then the IRS will hound her for her clothing and weaves. Honestly though, the worst part about this is that she not only received this for child negligence, but for wasting away a chance at her kids to go to college without having to rely on scholarships or student loans. Redemption refused, just sad.

It has already been alluded to in this thread; if everyone were responsible with money, the US economy would not do very well. We need the dregs descending upon Wal-Mart, not E-Trade.

I think this is true. As America continued to decline, smart people will go other places.

I know a guy that used to employ a former LSU football great to do yard work and odd jobs around his house. He had the same problem...if you paid him up front, you wouldn't see him again until he needed more money.

This guy snorted away what money he had from his brief NFL career, and last I heard, he was doing hard time in Angola. I won't mention his name, but most long time LSU fans will know who I'm referring to. It makes me sad, because he was one of my all-time favorite Tigers.

I know a guy that sold a company for five million dollars at age thirty-five. He blew it all in a few years.

Most people in America are financial failures, not just the poors.

it probably made them feel good, up until the moment they forgot about her. which is probably about 3 minutes on average.

Giving away $10 for 3 minutes of bliss is almost as retarded as blowing away $115,000. just my opinion tho.

shame on her for not following through with the advice that was given to her. this reminds me to never think that I have all the answers, you need to find the answers from other people.
