Does anyone else love the upvote/downvote process?

I like that a post doesn't go away when everyone hates it. I enjoy that people can keep downvoting the shite out of someone.

I try to upvote/downvote quite a bit. Some of you guys say some funny things that go unnoticed. I try to throw the upvote love around.

It's the only reason we're all still here.

No real function though. Other than showing that people like your post or hate your post.

i just upvoted you to be different, and in turn able to make this post pointing out i unpopularly upvoted you, therefore inciting others to down vote me. thats how this works.

I don't get the point of it. People generally tell you if they agree or disagree with a post. Not sure why we need to down vote/up vote thing. I think it just makes people feel anonymously superior. Dumb IMO. I've never used the feature.

How much would the board be corrupted if you got a score, like yakarma?

It's terrible.

It doesn't have a purpose like on other sites.

People will downvote you because they're scared to respond.

Idiots here actually think the up/downs carry weight and use them to discredit legitimate posts by others.

I don't use it.

Now downvote me.

I think sometimes posts aren't worth responding to but they are hilarious. I've seen posts with around 20 upvotes and no replies.

I agree with this actually, but i believe the possibility of down voting makes people think twice before posting, but it also makes some post more shitty threads cause they get off on being disliked. Negative attention is still attention, and some here just love attention.

They should utilize a system that recognizes each up/down vote then have a color coded system to indicate that you're a quality poster. Now of course you'll have your Owlies or El Gauchos who will make troll threads and downvoted like a motherfricker which is alright because they are closely loved by everyone. But then you have your new/middle of the road posters who are "post lite" that need to be judged solely on the content of their posts. That way to help deliver quality threads and encourage better posting.

I thoroughly enjoy it, and use it often. Especially when one of the usual suspects say something ridiculous and I don't feel like actually responding... Just a down vote will do

I never look at the up/down vote feature unless the thread is specifically about it or if someone gets mad that they are down voted. In those events I just down vote and move on. I think it's funny that some people legitimately get upset if their post is down voted.

No, and that's not really a concern of mine
