Picky eaters/people who won't try new things
People who use ketchup on steaks

Do y'all eat with middle school kids or what, because I don't know anyone who's picky about what they eat to the point where they wouldn't try something new.

I couldn't imagine it any other way. I can't remember the last time my Jambalaya wasn't red or had shrimp in it.
You should probably try good jambalaya once in your lifetime.

I dislike anyone who calls or refers to themselves as a food snob or foodie.
Oh! You only eat weird/new shite and dislike home utilitarian style cooking that families have to survive on. Awww you're so fricking cool! GKY

I have two family members who don't eat onions. Even in a rice and gravy, one doesn't eat it at all, and other will literally push the onions off to the side and not eat them. It's mind boggling.
ETA: one is in her mid twenties, other in his younger 30's

man the "holier than thou" types really come out if you mention the term "food snob" in the title
Posted on 11/20/14 at 9:42 am to Salmon
Huh? I'm dead serious. I don't eat with children who complain about what is given to them.
Eta: won't try new things is different than just things overall that they don't like the taste of. The former is what I was referring to.

Agreed. Calling yourself a snob when referring to anything is never a good thing.
Posted on 11/20/14 at 9:45 am to PapaPogey
of course you don't
no one in your extended family, or old friend, or at work has some weird food thing where they won't try something if it has whatever ingredient in it

When someone tells me they have this great recipe that I need to try. Then go on to tell me to take some meat, put a piece of jalapeño and some cream cheese in it and wrap it in bacon then put it on the grill.

THIS
It is becoming, IMO, a bigger problem. When I was younger, we ate what someone made for us and were taught to be thankful.
Yes, I would like to eat gourmet food every night, but will not complain when I get meatloaf. Now that I mention it, I love meatloaf.

yeah that's pretty weak and unoriginal, but usually delicious.

I would like to think that most here are not going to complain to the person cooking or serving the food
they will eat it, but they might have some thoughts that they keep to themselves
we all make judgements on almost everything we consume, see, do, so you can stop with your "holier than thou" shtick

Why are you attacking us for a simple response to the OP. All I'm saying is that I don't know ANYONE personally that would turn down food because of uncertainty of how it would taste. Obviously if they don't like sour cream and the dish has a glob of it on top, they won't want to eat it, but that's completely different that a new dish that they've never tried before.

What's funny is that this is you in a nutshell on this site

Be honest, did you learn the meaning of this phrase recently?
To get back on topic (sorry for hijacking)
I dislike relish in potato and chicken salad.

I'm not the one attacking...

sorry that I doubt this
I know entirely too many fickle adults who will not try something if it has too many unknown ingredients to them
either you live in bubble or are just being dishonest
