I also liked when the gong and guitar intro from Michael Jackson's "Beat It" was played before key 3rd downs (Haslett era - early 2000's).

more brass band music. You can hear that other crap anywhere. The traveling brass band was great, no idea why that stopped. People from out of town were always blown away and locals enjoy it.

It blows my mind that the Pelicans don't embrace brassy jazz instead of the canned stereo breaks during transition play. Such a no brainer to have local acts, emerging young jazz artists to improv 15 second snippers during transitions from one end of the court to another.

quote:

'I was always conscious of the connections' between jazz music and basketball,' NBA Hall of Fame center Kareem Abdul-Jabbar says.

Anyone with knowledge of both basketball and jazz recognizes natural affinities between the two pursuits: a marriage of form and improvisation, of individualism with teamwork; a primacy of rhythm (watch how basketball players dribble the ball before taking foul shots to re-establish a sense of tempo); and a requirement that players respond to one another's choices and to rapidly changing situations in real time.

The song selection in the Dome is awful.
I know that but the reason I complain more about LSU's is because they should know better and have a better alternative. I have come to expect annoying, ear drum bursting music in the dome. In Tiger stadium, I expect to hear TGBFTL.

Pretty sure every stadium in the country stopped playing that one. Don't think it will ever come back, nor would I ever want it to.

Omg, I thought I was the only one that hates that thing. They need to worry less about the sound effects and more about the game. Remember the train, the clocktower etc. i wouldn't mind it if our defense was actually killer and would stop third downs.
