Heard about it last week, for gaining a lot of gossip quickly, it was gone as soon as it came...

"He got a bunch of biker gang types to protest"

No. Veterans protested because of mislead information. Those Veterans happened to be in the local H.O.G. chapter which is not a biker gang. Yes, Martin made a simple gas station argument between a clerk and customer get way to big, all because that customer is a BIG supporter of HTV.

Customer asked for a can of dip.

Clerk grabbed wrong one.

Customer said some hateful crap about him not being from America, and should learn about America before coming here.

Clerk called him an a-hole.

Customer proudfully asked if the clerk knew who he was and that he was a veteran,

Clerk stated if he was a veteran all veterans were assholes, but he didn't know what the word veteran meant until after.

Not defending either one, but I have talked to the clerk before, and he likes America and personally thanked me for my service while talking about the military a few years back.

Just shows that even in a small town like Houma, people with money can get whatever message they want across and move people to do whatever they want.

What a tool. I hope he gets his. Like someone above stated, HTV is only good for high school football games. Attention seeking whore.

Any time I've been in that gas station, the people are very nice. Martin Folse has an inflated sense of worth in the community and tries to make mountains out of mole hills. I don't live in town anymore, but heard about the issue. Not sure who the customer was, but if that is how it went down, he sounds like he just might be an a-hole. And if your first course of action is to run to Martin Folse to break the story ..... .

I also hear he tried to tie this back to his stories on synthetic marijuana. And how these stores were selling the stuff to fund terrorism?? Not sure if that's true or not, but I do remember him taking credit for bringing the dangers of sythetic marijuana to the public's attention at a national level even though it was well known before he made a single report.

I BELIEVE the store is the Valero at the corner of St. Charles and 311 across from M&L.

Can someone confirm this? I'd like to go and buy whatever can of dip the clerk will give me.

That's it. It's called RoadRunner I believe.

Yep. It's not a Valero, but it's the gas station on the corner of 311 and St. Charles. Used to be a Danny & Clydes, now it's called Road Runner, IIRC.

In general I'm on Folse's side on the issue of foreign owned gas stations. They transfer ownership to a family member every so many years to keep renewing any new business tax breaks that they are eligible for.

But in this case, his ego got the better of him and it's about to hit him in the wallet
