Long story short, I'm stationed in Idaho and want to surprise my wife with some boudin. However, I'm not familiar with the brands on Cajungrocer.com.

Who makes the best product out of Bodin's, Comeaux's, Foreman's, Manda's, Poche's, Savoie's or Big Easy?

Ordering from them is apparently my best shot of getting boudin anytime soon. Any suggestions?

Order online from Billy's, Bourques, or Teet's. They all ship and you'll get a much better product.

When I lived in NC a few years ago I ordered a shipment from Cajun Grocer. I believe I went with Bodin's. My daddy and I both agreed it was acceptable, but it wasn't gonna blow your mind. It did the job when I was really craving it.

I'd probably try Poche's if I were in that position again.

Thanks. I'll see what I can get from one of them.

I ordered some things from Teet's a few weeks ago. Worked out great. Good stuff. I didn't get boudin, though. Order enough things to make shipping worth the price.

I think Bergeron's in Lobdell will ship also. I love the smoked boudin there.

Billy's or Best Stop both ship. They're both excellent.

Shipping is expensive. I paid about $46, I believe. I ordered a lot. Fifty bucks is not a lot for perishable foods including packaging, the ice chest etc... I found it reasonable. That's why I said to order enough products to make it worth the shipping. Everything they have freezes well. Mine all arrived fresh and not frozen.

Yep. Here's the number for the Opelousas store though, (337) 942-9150.

I think Teets has great sausage but their boudin isn't very good. I order sausage from them twice a year to make the shipping worth while but I only ordered the boudin once and won't do it again.

Pure pork sausage
Andouille
Smoked bacon
Smoked hocks

I think that's it. Made a haul at Kartchner's over the weekend, too. My freezers runneth over.
