I swear houston is home to the most expensive mexican food in the world. But damn, it is so good.

Nope, but you're such a sweetheart for thinking of me. At best I would be an average GM. Much respect to GMs. I just ain't got it in me. But if the new GM needs help seeing the forest for the trees, I'm the tits.

Ninfa's has been raking in the dough for years, and still is. Location, Location, Location. That's there "secret" to success. I hope nobody here actually thinks that having better than average food is necessary to a restaurant's success. Nope. Just "good enough" will do just fine. Ninfa's may be in a down period (I really don't know), but it would take an act of God or a major foodborne illness outbreak to cause them any pain, and that would be temporary.

I go to Ninfa's because I like their homemade flour tortillas. However, their food quality, in my opinion, has declined significantly from the early 2000 years.

Almost seems as if, for fajitas, the meats are pre-cooked and come out very quickly as if I was standing in a cafeteria line.

The best Tex Mex place in BR area is now Mi Padres. As a rule, I won't visit other Tex Mex restaurants that don't make homemade flour tortillas. I travel too much to Texas to eat that pre-package garbage.

What is good to order there? I've been once or twice but wasn't overly impressed with what I got.

Not true. That was their heyday.

If I had it in its "heyday", I shudder to think at what it's become. Blech.

Redecorating that place killed the atmosphere, and as a result, the food.

They made it look like a cheap chinese restaurant, with the mint green colors and shite.

The food started to quickly die off. And so has the service.

Bad lighting, bad ambiance, bad food, bad service. It is terrible.

And to go along with Ninfa's, i'll add that Coyote Blues is going to shite.

The food is cold. The plates are not cleaned up. It's like they just dump your food straight on the plate and send it out.

There is food caked on the menu's, and food all over the "cleaned" tables and floors. I used to love that place, but i refrain from going there now.

The only places i entertain going to for mexican is Superior or Casa Maria off bluebonnet. The rest have imploded.
