A story of true trash. And heartbreak.

My wife and I are in the process of adopting a child. We are looking for a child 2 or under, preferably a newborn.
For those who don't know much about the adoption process - it isn't as beautiful of a process as some make it out to be. I mean, it is - adopting a child from bad situations and making it yours is a beautiful thing, but what I mean is nice, suburban teenage girls that get pregnant don't give their kids up for adoption.
All that to say, I have been exposed to some O-T worthy trash in this process. Last night, our attorney called us to tell us that a potential birthmother had chosen another family to place her child.
A little about this birthmother.
Lives is rural Georgia
22 years old
Pregnant with her sixth child
Her 37 year old mother is also pregnant at the same time.
Possibly by the same 45 year old father.
The girl couldn't get over the fact that we lived in Mississippi. We live in Madison, the upper middle class suburb of Jackson.
My wife is heartbroken. I'm pissed. Nothing we can do though. On to the next trashy situation.

I wouldn't lose sleep over that one. Just keep trying and eventually you'll find the right situation.

I completely understand. We adopted our baby girl over 2 years ago. The process is heartbreaking and eye opening but so rewarding once you get through it.

Keep your head up buddy. It will all work out in the end and you will have a beautiful child to love and raise.

No - random man that got some mother/daughter action. He can't be found so terminating parental rights was going to be a legal hassle.

Stories like yours are why many couples go the international route to adopt.

adopt from a foreign country
Not as easy as it once was. Russia has practically shut the door and Ukraine is hesitant as well. Those are two big international adoption hubs. China isn't easy and very expensive as well.
cough: Obama: cough

You dodged a bullet with that gene pool.

So it's Obama's fault that Russia and the Ukraine don't like their babies being adopted by Americans?

Have you guys considered a puppy? I feel like humans are a huge pain in the arse. We're talking a huge commitment here.

Sorry. Didn't mean to make light of the situation but that is funny right there.
I have friends that adopted and loved a child for 2-3 years only to have the birth-mother take her back. Heartbreaking stuff.

Are you only looking at white babies? Or would a black baby do? I got a little girl coming in April that you can get for the cheap.
