Stat Breakdown of Rushing Game vs Arkansas

I had a family issue Sat and didn't watch any of the first half and was not able to watch closely the rest--obviously didn't miss much. I was curious what happened to LF and decided to break down the rushing game.
Final stats say 32 carries for 36 yards.
Effectively, we ran for 99 yards total--49 from running backs and 50 from QB/WR. McGee had 7/24, Williams 6/16, Fornette 5/9. No RB touched ball after Williams' carry at 3:49 in the third. LF had 1 carry in the second half.
Jennings was sacked 4 times for -36 yards and another -27 on the bad snap on first drive for a total of -63 yards.
Of Jennings 44 yards, I'm not sure the ratio of designed run vs. broken play (just looking at box score), but seemed like the majority were broken plays.
In total, a RB got the ball 18/54 plays over 9 drives, or 33% of the time and not once in the 4th quarter. Of all the issue, this stands out to me a great deal. For a "Power run" team we gave to a RB 1/3 of the time, in part because we were playing from behind and failing to execute.
End Result:
McGee: 7/24, one negative play (-1), got carries in 3/9 series
Williams: 6/16, zero negative plays, carried in 5/9 series
Fornette: 5/9, zero negative plays, carried 3/9 series
Dural: 1/6
Jennings (unofficial): 8/44, one negative play (-1), carries in 5/9 series.
Jennings has -36 yards in sacks and team had -27 of bad snap.

So out of the 32 carries, only 18 went to one of our 3 RBs?

Does the box score say that 99% of runs were against nine man boxes, mostly where the sFety was full out sprinting to our Los before the ball was even snapped?
Our offense sucks
Our offense sucks

What's the big deal? We kept the game competitive.
That's what we strive for here at LSU right? Just to compete.

You going to continue to post this shitty sarcasm joke in every thread?

LSU is forced into this because of crappy performance on first down.
In the first 3Q's, LSU had 12 1st down plays. 2 were passes with one completion for 6 yards. The 10 runs netted 29 yards with one of them being a 12 yard run by Magee. On 9 out of 12 first down plays LSU had a net of 17 yards or 1.9 yards / carry.
Every run play except Magee's 12 yarder was out of the I formation in the A or B gap. Predictability on 1st down kills this offense.

Are you calling Alleva a jokester? He would be offended!

Since when has being positive been equated to sarcasm here?
Have expectations dropped so low?

Correct

What's worse is Arkie is a bad football team. Les was waiting until they gave the game to us as usual but this time it didn't happen.

I agree. I'm not trying to make some new point; bottom line is we suck in a number of ways and just trying to quantify it. The fact that only 1/3 of carries went to RBs is more the result of this innefficnety than the cause.

I didn't watch the game. I'm glad I missed it.

On about the third run of the 10 referred to in your post, I figured "this play isn't working." So we tried it 7 more times just to confirm? I hated seeing us run this play all night.

Me too. And don't get me wrong, the I formation can work very well as an offense (see Alabama) if some variety is thrown in.
A toss sweep, a play action pass to the tight end, etc. Anything that'll keep LB's and safeties from shooting the gap at the snap would be a huge help.

Agreed. It sucks a lot of joy out of watching LSU football.

Yup, especially against bad/inferior teams.
