Miles is a great coach record shows that however sometimes things run their course. The program gets stale and it's best for all to have a change. You can find numerous examples-Mack at Texas fulmer at tenn hell even spurrier at uf was getting stale. Beamer at va tech Richt at uga Bowden at fsu (thought his elite run is longer than most). Everyone of those was feared and respected and by the end became a punch line.

We are teetering at that point IMO

Coaches get complacent. Messages get stale. Sometimes a change of scenery is the right thing for both sides.

You are a fool if you believe this. You can debate his scheme sure but thats just one small part if being a head coach or else charlie weiss and muschamp would have been elite head coaches. he has done a terrific job of running the program and has overseen the best decade of Lsu football history.

Correct. The fact that he's a bad coach means he's a bad coach.

You're the fool. Some coaches are great recruiters. Some can only coach. Les is a great recruiter not a great coach. But I've always wondered why couldn't he recruit at Oklahoma State. It makes me feel that the LSU brand has more to do with it now than the coach. I'll give you best decade but that started in 2001 with the SEC Championship and ended on 1/9/2012. He was set up to be successful. All he had to do was maintain an established program. He did that but should have left after the NC. He has been exposed and it's sad

I agree with the OP, but you're crazy if you think It can't get worse...it can. It's time for change, but Miles has not ran the program "into the ground"....his successor will be coming into a very nice situation that is already equipped to compete on a national level on Day1, no "rebuilding" required. The argument could be made that the program as a whole (facilities, perception, money, talent) is in the best shape in its history.

Miles has done a fine job with the LSU program and the program is in really good shape overall, it's just time for some new blood and new energy to get this football program back to Top5-10 status instead of the current Top 10-20 status.

Miles is not a bad coach. I submit he is in fact not a coach at all, but an impersonator who has gotten away with it for a long time.

When you can't see the need or acknowledge the need for a change then there is a problem.
