he's the LSU beat writer for the TP. Normally, very reserved in his criticism. Calls the rationale Miles gave for sitting LF, "the dumbest" from Miles, yet. Also, says Jennings is not an SEC caliber QB and refusal to play Harris is holding entire team back. Wow.

He's not wrong. This is not middle school football, the best players have to play.

That's why Leslie needs to GTFO. I know that ain't happening, but I'm honestly discouraged about the future of this team with him at the helm.

Jennings was not to blame for this loss. He's not an SEC quality quarterback and should have been replaced for the second half. He's limited, he does not have the kind of ability to lift a team up. Brandon Harris has that ability, although he is young and perhaps does not have it quite harnessed. But every snap he misses out on is another wasted moment for LSU going forward.

Nailed it.

I don't care about LF being benched. There was probably a reason. It wouldn't have mattered one bit if he played or not.

"Jennings was not to blame for this loss. Jennings is not going to take the LSU offense anywhere and the best he can hope for is to be a serviceable backup who won't complain. He doesn't have the arm strength to deliver a pass to a receiver with a defender anywhere nearby.

His decision making on running has gotten better but how does that help this offense? It needs a live arm and a quarterback who can make quick decisions, whether it's running or passing. LSU has failed to recruit and/or develop its quarterbacks, so there's no guarantee Brandon Harris will turn out any better. But even the moist simple-minded football fans can see he brings at least a little more juice, more charisma and much more talent to the position. LSU has botched this position from a coaching standpoint."

Damn, he nailed it.

(sorry for the repeat, Roger)

Coaching F

Les Miles looked like a feeble old man trying to describe something he couldn't see well when explaining what went wrong after the game. He seemed perplexed and unwilling to admit his team was flat. His strongest criticism was the Tigers were out of rhythm early in the game with a delay of game penalty and errant snap. But he continues to fail to notice that Anthony Jennings is not capable of getting anything out of the passing game. Les said "It's not Anthony's fault" and he's right. It's Les' fault, beginning with poor recruiting of the quarterback position for ALL 10 YEARS, constant turnover in offensive coordinators, and a failure to coach Jennings up. He doesn't want to use the excuse of youth, except for when he does use the excuse. The freshmen have nearly a whole season under their belts.

Insert the cliché here 'They aren't freshmen any more.' He's got talented wide receivers dropping passes, when they actually get delivered close enough to get hands on them, and a quarterback who simply offers no threat to an opposing defenses. For Brandon Harris to not take a snap in that game was unconscionable. He does have the ability to lift up the players around him with his speed and strong throwing arm. He could hardly have done worse than 123 yards and no points.

Spot on

How does he or anyone else know that Harris has the ability to lift the team up?

Well, we have seen it in at least two games this year when Jennings was playing horribly. So there's that.

Miles said that the defense Ark was in, took away the plays that LF excels in, so they sat him.

Miles explained the limited amount of plays that LF had for him in this game plan were not working. So he sat him.
