Then finding a replacement should be no problem. People need to stop with this 'there's no one to replace miles' theory. Miles was a nobody until LSU. Just another coach.

His time here is winding down. It's clear and I've never been a miles hater.

2019 - Alleva Freaked us BAD

The Arkansas coach is no hack. He ran a pretty solid program in Wisconsin. Took him some time to get over the hump with the hogs, but they look like they have some decent talent. They have played tough football against some very good teams this year. So everyone that keeps saying it wouldn't be hard to find a successful replacement for Miles isn't thinking with a clear head.

Miles was 28-21 over all and .550 in conference at Okla State.

It was a panic hire. LSU thought it could catch lighting in a bottle like the Saban hire.

Who is saying this?

The point is that while we could make another home run hire and be in great shape, we could also be like Tennessee, still trying to replace Fulmer

I feel like if someone like fricking Les Miles can be the most successful coach in history here, then any halfway decent coach could turn this program into an absolute powerhouse

I just don't see what les miles brings to the table that another coach can't. Overrated recruiting? And if you don't agree that it's overrated then you must have just started following it because he is regularly losing top talent in state.

What was ok st's record before miles? How about a year by year breakdown of his record there so we can see any patterns? I would say this is important information to consider before judging what kind of job he did there. I'll hang up and listen.

You may think it was a great hire for LSU, but, I was not impressed at the time.

I don't care to research your question, but Ok State has certainly not missed him.

No "feeling" about it.

Saban handed this a-hole the winning powerball ticket, and Miles cashed it in. Hence his record here.

I KNOW a halfway decent coach could turn this into a powerhouse.

So was Saban... He had a 58.5% winning percentage at Mich St. And was not a well known guy across the country. Hell, not everybody thought it was a good hire when it happened.

The point is that there are really good coaches out there that arent big name guys right now. They are coordinators, assistants, position coaches, young guys, etc. We dont know who they are, but it doesnt mean they arent good coaches. They are just waiting for the opportunity to be a head coach.

Fact: Nobody here knows who the next best college football coach is gonna be. But hes out there.
