20 threads on page 1, 1 has rockets posters in it and only because rockets players were specifically mentioned. you are overreacting.

20 threads, off a pelicans win where we demolished a team. Should we go back to the offseason or just last week?

actually, I have watched the rockets, and I know they're playing better, but majority of it is not on Harden. He's improved, yes, but lets not overreact like he became all-defensive 1st team overnight.

1 thread on the first page has rockets talk in it, 1 thread on page 2 does. That's 2 out of 40 by my math that is 5% of threads.

is this effort sustainable or just an anomaly? it's a little hard to believe he got this much better when a mere 2 months ago he was playing D like the 2012 saints.
Don't know... that's to be seen. I think it's more about effort than anything.

Could be why his 3-point shot is so off which is why his FG% is low.

Its not just his 3pt shot thats dropping it. His fg% is down from every part of the floor other than 0-3ft (63.2->65.2%).

Lets go back to the AD circle-jerking PTM. Thanks!

Yes but it's most noticeable with his 3's.

He's shooting 13.8 percent worse (26.8 vs 40.6) from mid-range and 8.9 percent worse (27.8 vs 36.7) from above the break 3's.

He's taking 1.5 more mid-range shots per game this season, while making the same number of those shots per game. Also, he's making .5 less 3's per game, while taking roughly the same number of threes as last season.

So, while his 3 point shooting is down, he's also taking more "dumb" shots and missing them, too.

The Rockets are waaaay better on D. There's no denying that. The Davis Effect is a different form than Howard's and I'll refrain from arguing which I'd prefer. There is no logical reason they'd be so much better just because of one player (Ariza). It's likely a combination of coaching, scheme, and fit. I can only hope they slide closer to each other.

Davis does however have the rare talent to "wash" out anyone 1-5 on defense outside the paint. It's one of the craziest things I've seen and likely my favorite trait of his. Guards will probe, bigs will try to shoot over, forwards try a combination of both. It all ends up the same. You fail and learn your lesson, or you wise up and decide to live for the next possession by getting rid of the ball.
