What is a typical rate to expect to pay for a yearly policy in Louisiana? Say just a 20 foot bay boat valued at 25-30k? I expect to shop around next year but have no clue is Louisiana is way above or below the avg of 300-500 that sites online list.

should be in there. I switched to Shelter a few years ago and mine is roughly that for a bass boat. don't know if bay is any different. 3 weeks after changing companies ill be damned if I didn't hit a stump in Toledo and jacked the LU and prop up. Had a ck in my hand in 3 days

mine is like 27/mo

It all depends on were you live and were you plan to use the boat.
I always got great rates thru State Farm as a rider off my home insurance.

Oh, make sure when you do the paperwork that you know your boat doesn't go faster then 30mph.

That's the right range. Rate will mostly be based off your location, value, motor size.

Depends on the coverage. I carry liability only on my world cat and it is $127/yr for $300k coverage. If you have comprehensive it will be considerably higher as i was quoted $1700/yr for that

If your boat is going to be financed the bank will most likely require full coverage and a survey if it is over 25ft.
