One of my favorites. The episode about The Peacocks legit fricked me up.

Remember seeing episodes as a kid with my parents. Always thought I'd go back to check it out for real to see if it was legit later in life. Seemed like it had a good story but I was a rugrat.

Like every episode in that series is fricked up. I was scared to watch yhat show for years because I saw the start of an episode where some sort of tentacle thing kills a family in the Amazon. Ugh. Also the guy who could Ozzie through places.

I liked it when it originally aired. Tried to watch it the other day and couldn't get through the pilot.

See, that's one thing I was wondering; if it stood the test of time.

Hard to judge a series on the first season let alone the pilot.

Individual stand alone episodes were the best, I thought the most boring were the story arc, or mythology episodes.

Do not fail to watch the episode with Jesse Ventura and Charles Nelson Reilly.

It's a great show. It still holds up fine. But Maulder and scully can get pretty old when they are rehashing the same argument for 3-4 seasons, even after all the stuff they've seen. "There are aliens." "There aren't aliens." Bla Bla Bla.

Also, when I was rewatching it, I was disapointed to find that most episodes go back to aliens in some way, whether that be technology, or the aliens themselves, or whatever. I wish the world was a little bit more diverse.

I remember as a kid being enthralled with the mythology and story arc episodes. I was always looking forward to the mystery being uncovered.

Maybe my problem was I knew they never would get to the bottom of it. Also watched them out of sequence, didn't watch the show first run

"Rush" did that to me, and I really don't know why. I don't normally get creeped out but something about that episode really made me think

They're all great seasons 1-6

monster of the week episodes are the real gold and they're strong through season 7 even with some good stuff in season 8

1-6 is the best television ever made

If you like this kind of television show then you are n for a treat. X-Files is a fantastic show. It is my personal favorite show ever and very well regarded all around. Its production values were the very top for its time (although that will seem less impressive in this day and age).

IMO seasons 3-5 are the very best TV has to offer. 1 and 2 are very good. The show lost some steam in the last few seasons, but wasn't a total train wreck as some people say.

When I watched it the first time I always looked forward to the mythology episodes, but now some of the MOTW (Monster Of The Week) eps are my favorite.

Enjoy! And feel free to start threads on any particular eps (or maybe seasons to keep from cluttering the board) that you enjoy. I've seen them all, and most of them multiple times.

Good show. A bit hard to marathon because Scully's skepticism grates on your nerves.

I get sick of her.

The 403rd time she believes there is a rational scientific explanation for a monster popping out of a guys chest, growing into a 100 foot tall tree with flowers that become aliens which then fly off into space, she gets old.
