Just saw a beautiful Bald Eagle eating road kill on that small bridge about a mile before Hoo Shoo Too.

Some badass birds. Saw one own a man one time by wraping both its talons, grasping, cutting into and digging around the man's collar bones.

I almost hit one with my car on the way home today.

Seems like I see plenty these days, but not around prairieville.

Sightings are getting much more frequent around here. I saw one on Perkins Rd right by Santa Maria one day a couple years ago. Saw one in Convent last weekend at my camp. And tons in the Spillway, Lake Verrett, Blind River, and Gibson areas. Still badass everytime I see one.

Saw a nice male last month near I-12 and LA21 (North of Madisonville). A friend also reports seeing one this morning in Kenner near the Lake. I used to think these birds were indigenous to the Northwest US. Good to see them making a comeback.

Last year, I saw another perch atop a seawall on the Mandeville Lakefront. Clearly a male with its brilliant white head and dark torso. A passerby was in such disbelief that he insisted it was an Osprey. I later googled it to make sure I wasn't going crazy. I wasn't.
