Pac 12 champ would have played a few decent teams.

Eh, its close. UCLA would have a strong case if they win out and then beat Oregon - one of the only 2 teams to beat them. They have a very good schedule.

You can play fantasy all you want but if it comes down to it no two loss team is getting in over a one loss Ohio State team.

The Urbsession on TD is nauseating...

It's still early. Let the games pan out. In the end think the B1G gets squeezed out, with the SEC, PAC 12, ACC and BIG 12 getting bids. But if FSU loses or if the SEC East wins the SECCG, that opens the door for another team (most likely tOSU).

Oregon's injuries are starting to pile up. If Oregon loses another game, I'd rather see a one loss Ohio State team that is healthy over watching Mariota get killed.

It depends on who the 2 losses are to. If they're both to ranked teams, and they have no other "big wins" ( a la Notre Dame) then what's the difference between that situation and Ohio State?

Exactly.

In fact, the entire discourse (from the media to the committee to questions such as this one in the OP) would be better put to shift in focus from "losses" to "quality wins."

I would like to believe that the committee won't use number of losses as such a discrete first elimination criteria but I'm not holding my breath.

However, like the basketball selection, it's hard to argue that a team which went 3-2 against other top 25 opponents is automatically less deserving than one who goes 1-1.

First thought is neither for a final four, but as much as an espn.25 Valium the B1G is, tOSU. If the Ducks can't survive with that scheme & talent with one loss, no. Urban just beat the team pretty handily on the road that pushed OU to the edge in Eugene.

The VT loss is still wtf, but the Hokies trailing off with great players isn't.

ASU or Oregon will be in the playoffs. I don't see either team losing the remaining five games. ASU has WSU, OS, and Arizona. Oregon has CU and OS. Oregon better not lose either and ASU is going in dry on WSU and OS. Arizona is the biggest game on either schedule and AZ has fallen back down to earth.
