How can anyone honestly say Miles got out coached?

I thought last nights game was one of Miles' best coached games.

By all accounts, Bama had more talent and experience. They are led by a senior QB who had the one of the nation's highest pass efficiency ratings. He competed less than 50 percent of his passed for about 200 yds.

Amari Cooper, heralded by many as college football's best player, was virtually shut out in the second half and held far below his season average.

The nations best run defense was pounded all night long and gave up over twice their average.

LSU is severely limited at QB and yet was 50 seconds away from the W. You may disagree with the philosophy but by in large it was the perfect game plan last night. A couple catches instead of drops and today is a completely different day.

Because this is the Rant and Les has been fired after every loss since 2005. And will be showered with praise if we win out the rest of the way. This place has worse mood swings than a pregnant woman.

Moral victories and Tulane University have long gone hand in hand.

He got out coached in the 5th quarter. That's for sure.

The problem is that the passing game is so poor that we need unbelievable execution in all other aspects of the game to pull out a W against a team with similar talent. And it doesn't appear to be getting much better.

Don't think he was outcoached but agree with haneegriff and risher that the game was lost with sticking to the run no matter what.

Its pretty simple, we lost so people are going to blame him and say it's his fault. LSU fans no matter what Miles does will never be happy with him its just the way it is, doesn't help that we have had JJ/Lee era level QB play.

A couple catches there at the end instead of drops, and today they are praising Miles for a great game-plan and how he outcoached Saban in this game. They would be saying how the coaching staff made major adjustments at half, and completely dominated Alabama on both sides of the ball.

However, the players failed to execute in the end, and that is the fault of Miles. Most of the posters saying Miles lost the game are negatigers and were waiting for a loss to come back out in force. This loss hurt, it hurt a lot because LSU completely outplayed bama. However, when you ask them to specify how Saban actually outcoached miles, and what role he played in the win...they can't tell you. It's just the trendy thing to do to pile on today.

"Miles implements a game plan that requires you to execute it PERFECTLY in order to win."

Someone said this last night and I'm still thinking about it. Maybe someone can chime in. I don't know what to think of it yet.

well dukkee v is all over the board saying it. He can't give you specifics, only that saban outcoached miles. Of course, he said LSU had no chance to beat Ole Miss, and that we would beat bama.

well, it's not high risk...so it's much easier to execute...but the mistakes do generally hurt a lot more. LSU had major mistakes in the OM game, but was able to overcome. They also made major mistakes last night too, and couldn't finish the job. Despite the many mistakes, I honestly believe they were the unsportsmanlike penalty from closing it out. I agree LSU should have won the game and have only themselves to blame for all of the mistakes, but that doesn't mean the penalty didn't change things dramatically.

Miles didn't get outcoached at all. He and Saban both called conservative plays and made sound decisions. I think Les and his staffs inability to develop QBs, and the ineptness on offense because of our poor QB is what helped us lose. Les has a big weakness in football strategy as it relates to personnel decisions, tendencies and exploiting opponets weaknesses.

Great for 3.75 quarters.

UA marched down the field on the last drive. Prevent didn't work.

Got schooled in OT. We've been running down their throats all game and all of the sudden we need to pass for the whole OT series?

We were still blitzing on that final drive.
