With Bradley Beal being injured, Temple is filling in for him as the starting 2 guard.

He's averaged 13.5ppg, 3.5 rebs, 1.5steals per game along with playing great D. And he's shooting 48.6% from the field and 50% from 3.

And the last 2 games he's had 17pts and 18pts. Playing really really good ball right now.

Their coach has said how confident he is with playing Temple and he's doing so well that when Beal returns, Temple will still see a lot of PT. And he called Temple his "utility infielder" and loves that he can play all 3 back court positions if need be.

And he's playing on ESPN right now.

Great to see. I don't think many of us expected Garrett to stick in the league.

he has tremendous leaping ability, I always thought that if he ever developed an offensive game he could play with anyone

It always boiled down to whether he could learn to shoot. His defense in college was impeccable and the reason he stuck with San Antonio for a while. Now that his shot is consistent, especially from the perimeter, he is a fringe starter.

It's not his leaping ability that has helped me that much.... He's developed a nice shot and is knocking down 3point shots at a 50% rate.

Hes a perfect example of someone that stuck around in the NBA due to his defense, and just worked his arse off every year and improved a little bit each year on the offensive end. Now, he's not of offensive liability that he used to be. And so far this year he's been an asset on the offensive end.

+1

With all the talent we had on our final four 2006 team, it's impossible to believe that GT is producing at the highest level in the nba.

What incredible recognition the announcers just gave him. Good for Garrett

Yep....

Sounds like everyone in the Wizards really likes and respects what Temple brings to the table. And sounds like he's a Pros pro.

The consensus was that his ceiling was pretty much a Bruce Bowen role, lock down defender and spot up 3 point shooter. It looks like he's getting close to that and could be developing a bit more of an offensive prowess.
