He's way the hell up there, that's for sure. He's also way up there in terms of guitar players. I mean, I think about the only person who is both a better songwriter and guitar player than Neil Young is Jimi Hendrix

I'm not saying he isn't. I don't buy into stating someone is overrated or underrated. Just said I never cared for him. Young basically owes his career to Stephen Stills and in every endeavor Young's been involved with, he always comes off as a pretentious a-hole.

He´s not a ´United Stateser´, is what you mean to say....

Rank? Not sure. Requires a lot of thought.

He´s up there at the top, for sure.

No, I meant to say American...

I know many Canadians and they don't refer to themselves as Americans...

But I get what you mean... Luis Suarez is my favorite American!

Your point being?

I´m Spanish, and don´t refer to myself as European.

Lets just say its a common colloquialism used here in "America," that most "Americans" understand... And since this is an "American" based MB... It is what I meant to say..

But you knew that already... I didn't say he wasn't North American..

Young's lyrics have always been hit-or-miss with me. The Sugar Mountain-type songs are just too "hippie on weed" for me--and he's written a lot of 'em. I like a lot of his stuff, love some of it … but I'd probably have him somewhere in my top 20, not my top 10.

I once had a guitar teacher who said other guitarists snicker when Neil Young takes a solo.

Yeah, I'm sure that guy knows what he is talking about. He is teaching a guitar class to some doofus while Neil Young is one of the most critically acclaimed artists of all time.
