it shouldn't...

the two are not mutually exclusive.

He really is a great Pope.

so did the last pope, and the one before that. not a big deal.

catholics aren't the ones stuck in the stone age. its the churches that think dancing or wearing shorts send people to hell that are the problems.

Popes have been acknowledging it for a while now. Keep up.

Last time I checked the Bible says He created everything. It never says how he did it. The notion that many have on both sides of he science vs. religion that the Bible claims he just snapped his fingers and "poofed" everything into being is patently wrong.

People are going to say the church already acknowledged this...
But go read what he says about evolution, it's truly awesome, mirrors my beliefs almost exactly and I'm not even catholic

1) he's no the first pope to say this.

2) a Catholic priest came up with the idea for heavens sake.

Doesn't the bible say the Earth is only 6000 years old, it was created in 6 days and Adam and Eve were created by God. How can they admit the bible is wrong if it is Gods word?

The only thing that is different about this is how the media has reported it.

That is a literal interpretation of the Bible.

Who's to say that 1 day in God-time isn't equal to 6 million years or a couple billion?

to be fair a lot of what the "young earth" sects of christianity believe and the way they preach it is pretty absurd
