He never claimed Lakers had the better front court. He did claim Lakers were better than the Magic though.

Which is pretty much indirectly saying what you meant

By the way the oddsmakers say that the Lakers are 75-1 to win a title and the Pels are 100-1. Knicks are 50-1. So knicks have literally twice as a good a chance at winning a title than the Pelicans. We can play the 'oddsmakers say' game all day long bro

Whats your point? Nobody was saying Pelicans will win championship, to my knowledge. I asked you your thoughts on Anthony Davis being far more likely to win MVP than Houston to win NBA title. Or Vegas thinking that at least.

The article is pretty spot on actually.

I tend to agree. Remember in 07-08 when CP3 led New Orleans to 2nd in the conference after not making the playoffs the season before. He only got 28 first place votes while Kobe got 82. Kobe had a good season, but he dominated the MVP vote bc he plays in LA.

Davis isn't going to get enough national coverage to win the MVP. Main reason Durant was able to finally pull through and win was because he had finished 2nd in voting 3 different times and brought his team deep in the playoffs multiple times.

Small market guys have to pay their dues far more than the large market guys.

The only guys since 1980-1981 (when sports writers took over the MVP voting) to win an MVP award outside of the top 20 markets are Malone, Robinson, Duncan, and Durant. Since then 20 of the 34 MVPs were from a top 10 market.

Who did LeBron play for when he won his first 2? What about KD last year? Didn't realize OKC and Cleveland where such huge markets.

You're taking MVP literally, that's not how the award is decided. There's most definitely politics involved and one of the unwritten minimum requirements is being on a top 4 team.

My assumption is that the Cans are going to do pretty damn well this year. If we stay healthy, we will ve a force. And Davis has already been postured as a top NBA player by the media, so it won't be coming out of nowhere.

this MAY be the case if there wasn't a team over there in Cleveland, OH.

I mean most improved team that didn't just add two all stars including the best player in the world.

Unfortunately barring a 70 win season and a serious playoff run (and probably not even then either), he won't win one. At least not in a small market in NOLA.

What does this even mean? Is OKC a bigger market than NO?

The Thunder won 60 games and made it to the Conference Finals.

I'd say that qualifies for what I said (70 games might have been a bit much). If we win 60+ games and start making Conference Finals and stuff he could win one sure. I'm not sure I see that happening any time soon though.

I see what you're saying but that's true for any MVP.

No blocks and 5 Offensive Rebounds for Wizards tonight against Orlando. They must be really really soft.
