I'm still laughing at "beer can chicken" and "Buttermilk Biscuit Butterfly Shrimp."

I called someone a basic douche earlier. He was not amused.

I was on the road today and began to feel a little jittery because my blood sugar was a little low. Then I remembered this. I pulled in the first Popeyes I passed, it was in Hattiesburg. WOW. Amazing place. Courteous service with a smile, and incredibly quick. I did a 5 piece spicy tender with mashed potatoes, onion rings, and of course the pumpkin spice pie.

Upon sliding the pie from the holster I was greeted with a nice, golden exterior that was heavily dusted with brown sugar and cinnamon. Pic for scale:

I dug in and find that crust was pleasantly crisp, and not dry. Certainly not as moist as homemade goodness, but not dry at all. It was perhaps a little doughy, as I'd prefer more filling. As anticipated, the interior was the temp of &%$@ing magma, but I was prepared for that. In terms of flavor, cinnamon was fairly dominant, but nutmeg and pumpkin pie spice came through on more subtle levels. Very little cream cheesiness. Overall I'd call it solid, but not on the level of the (IMO) GOAT fast food pie, the McDonald's apple pie. Crappy pic after a bite:

Great review.

Was this Popeyes with courteous service located in an alternate universe?

The ones in Lake Charles and Westlake are really fast, super friendly and helpful.

They're the only ones I've ever been to, and I'm always surprised at how bad all the rest of them apparently are.

I love the quality control. I assume the "7:25" is the time it needs to be sold by in order for the customer to experience maximum quality.
