Pull carb and give a good cleaning
if the seafoam method doesn't work can i disconnect the hose from the bowl and spray carb cleaner into the hole? that would be easier than pulling the whole carb off.

no. Pulling the hose and spraying will not clear out the stuck needle in the seat. Did it stop overflowing once you tapped it with the butt of the screwdriver?

If you cant get it unstuck with seafoam or by tapping it with a screw driver, take the carb off and bring it to a reputable shop. I just went through this and it cost me all of $45 for them to put a new float in the carb.

Mine did the same thing... Run the bike as much as you can and keep using sea foam. It took me a couple of tanks of gas and two bottles of sea foam but it no longer leaks. Also, be sure to use sta-bil if using gas with ethanol.

will seafoam help with the ethanol?

I normally use the sea foam for water in gas and cleaning carb. It will break up the gunk in the carb and help flush it out. Put it in and run the bike as much as possible. Not sure if it's meant for an everyday ethanol treatment.
Anytime I fill up my gas can I put in a few ounces of sta-bil. I think it protects the internals from the ethanol.

Not the regular Seafoam, but I think they might have just come out with some ethanol stuff. Just use sta-bil

Great way to over fill the oil inside the engine. That is were the over flowing gas will go.

Glad to see that they have worked for you. I tried it once and had hell before buying a stock honda carb. Have heard others having the same problem as well. They would run fine for 15-20 minutes then die. Wait 15-20 minutes and start back up.

The reason for tapping the bowl with a screwdriver handle is to unstuck the float/needle assemble. If that don't work a couple of hard drops of the front of the 4 wheeler may do the trick as well.
