Agreed, can't wait until he dominates Howard.

Asik put up better stats against a better front court while competing for rebounds with the best big man in the league. Boom is licking his wounds. By his wounds, I mean some bloke.

Of course. The Lakers didn't even attempt a 2 pointer. They were chucking from half court to avoid his amazing presence.

thanks bro.

for most of you who haven't heard or it or seen the article here's a little lesson in analytics

LINK

Dwight Howard, who is commonly referred to as the NBA’s “most dominant” interior defender, only averaged 2.69 blocks per 48 minutes, almost 4 fewer than Ibaka; however, it could be argued that Howard’s mere presence “blocks” shots before they happen. The presence of a truly dominant interior force can augment the spatial behavior of the offense in the same way that a dominant cornerback changes the behavior of a quarterback. While it is easy to tally up things like blocks, rebounds, and steals, it’s much harder to measure the kind of disruption or the strategic augmentations that dominant interior defenders like Dwight Howard create. We define “The Dwight Effect” as the ability of an interior defender to reduce the efficiency of an opponent’s shooting behavior.

IN summary, using blocks as a judge of whom is the better defender is akin to using hits as judgment for who is the better hitter in baseball.

"The Dwight Howard Effect" - when AD and Asik block the ball straight into Dwight's face.

Abstract: Dwight Howard is an overrated player because, for many years, the NBA suffered from a drastic lack of interior talent.

Body: AD and Asik are better interior defenders than Dwight Howard. Dwight Howard also sucks at offense. When Dwight Howard goes to shoot the ball, AD and Asik will continually block the ball into his face. Eventually, this will result in breaking Dwight Howard's nose and confidence. Afterwards, he will cry and then retire.

Conclusion: Dwight Howard is an overrated player who will soon be forced into retirment due to AD and Asik humiliating him.

What do you guys think? Should I submit this to the Sloan Conference?

It will be rejected. Look I'm as big a fan of Asik as anyone on this board but he's not on the same level as Dwight. AS far Davis, yes he gets more blokes than Dwight however the Dwight effect paper shows that only a simpleton would believe that more blocks = better defender. Believe what you wish, or educate yourself, it's really up to you.

Nah, Dwight is on his own in the "getting blokes" department. Jason Collins is his wingman, no?

Meh who cares? We'll finish with 8-10 wins more and in the playoffs. Davis will be at the lottery drawing crossing his fingers for a pels ping pong ball.

Having possibly the best 3 big rotation in the league is kind of a big deal to us. It's what we're pinning our hopes on, so we care, and if we're right the rest of the league will care soon enough.
