He wasn't even in the study so that might be why.

It's cute how hard you are trying... yet still failing hard.

I'll remind you that the paper is called the Dwight Effect

Because of one stat which doesn't even justify it in it's entirety. He has less percentage of shots he defends shot at close range. The invisible block they speak of doesn't take into account the fact that his lack luster mid range and 3 pt range defense on shots he was defending within 5 ft of. The paper calls it the Dwight Effect but then the stats show nothing to justify him being the poster boy for the shots defended metric.

dud you could juggle those numbers

For the record, I'm not juggling anything. I'm taking their stats all their numbers and showing the relevance of them and how Dwight stands up to others in his so called "effect". So he doesn't allow as many shots at close range when he's defending this shows that he has a tendency to sag on defense to stop points in the paint from his man yet gives up the 3 ball and the mid range jumper at a higher percentage of makes pushing him to be average when allowing points to be scored on the shots he defends.

The only thing I'll agree upon is the fact that he has the least amount of shots put up at close range but he allows the 10th most points on those shots so he isn't some staple to the metric.

I agree, defense isn't just 5ft from the rim.

Boom says Aldridge is forced to take 17ft jumpers because of Dwight.

For '13-'14, Aldridge's shot selection:
18.6% 0-3ft
16.2% 3-10ft
22.6% 10-16ft
41.5% 16ft<3pt

In the playoffs last year, Aldridge shot:
26.8% 0-3ft
18.0% 3-10ft
23.6% 10-16ft
30.4% 16ft<3pt

So really, he didn't take more shots from outside than the regular season.
