CFP is all crap. Simple. Conference champs playoffs. And yes Notre Dame has to get in a conference.

Sorry. There could be 4 teams from our conference and 3 teams from the Pac12 that would be better than one of the other conference champs.

Same as 2011. Should not have to beat teams twice. If you are not beat in your conference then you should not be best in the nation.

If they are not going to do a 16 team bracket then it needs to be 4 or 6 conference champs.

HUH? Go figger that one out...that is about as screwy as the thread...

Only thing I agree with is you shouldn't have to beat the same team twice...unless it is for the NCG...and you know if two SEC teams get into the playoff, they will matched up in 1st round...

You do realize that not every conference is created equal, right?

How can you rationalize that this year's Big Ten champ will be as qualified as whoever emerges from the SEC or PAC-12 (especially when you consider the possibility that it will be either Michigan State or Ohio State who were both embarrassed in non-conference matchups)?

Then the conf champ from the strongest conf should have an easy time

What if, theoretically speaking, a one-loss team from said conference is just as good, if not better, than the conference champ?

Say for the sake of argument that this hypothetical team was without their star player or dealt with extenuating circumstances around the time of their game with the eventual conference champ (e.g. natural disaster, 2011 Oklahoma State plane crash, etc.)?

Are you telling me that this team should be withheld from participating in the playoffs even if they are substantially better than the majority of the other conference champs?

Disagree, the best four should play it out...probably should be the best 8 or 12, and that will happen at some point. Way too much money.

I don't know if this is the way to do it but one way or another the voting bullshite has got to be stopped. Make some computer formulas and let it eat, and frick the 'eye test'.

Being the best in your conference is irrelevant, the question is whether you're one of the 4 best in the nation.

So it makes no sense whatsoever to argue that 2 of the top 4 teams can't be from the same conference.

no doubt. I'm not a fan of this committee. At all. I'd much prefer a collection of computer polls decide the top 4.

What part of National Champion says you're the best team?
