So what's the deal with him? He wants to play WR/RB and we offered him as a DB?

Way to rub it in. Dude is a stud and not staying home to represent his entire state and family at LSU.

So why make him a DB, when this kid has so much to offer to the offense. This kid has similar skills to Odell but Kirk is stronger and more explosive than Odell was in high school.

Yeah that seems pretty dumb. I mean I'm sure he'd be a good one, but damn, he's even more impressive with the ball in his hands.

Kirk is awesome, elite athlete, great HS player, and I hope he comes to LSU. But, what worries me about him are similar to worries I had about Trovon Reed in HS. Where does his athletic ability and hybrid skill set project to? At the next level the elite schools have great athletes in every position, and at RB and at WR, LSU and A&M will have guys who's body type and skill set are more conducive for those positions. At worst Kirk will be a two year contributor at WR or RB at either school, but I wonder if he translates to be an SEC starter at either position? Hope he goes to LSU so we can find out there.

Kirk would probably be better off at LSU. A&M and Oregon are trendy because they run fast offenses with hybrid guys all over, but how well does that translate into the NFL? LSU runs an NFL offense and the coaching staff can teach him things that will translate into the NFL better than A&M or Oregon can. He's a special type of athlete that can cause matchup problems everywhere, which is why he'd work in an offense that runs the ball effectively. Paired with all of the other great guys we have, it would be absolute hell to try to stop the offense.

Wish he would have stayed at Newman.

If he's going to leave, he should at least go to Oregon. Even the aggies are saying Sumlin's offense is a joke thus far

This kid is a safety. In high school you can make kids miss but in college they're just as fast.he gets to the NFL at lsu as a safety ....he's no ODB

Good looking highlights. Looks like he has great straight line speed once he gets started.

His 40 time in pads would be close to his 40 without, no shite.

I like him as an all purpose back or just a slot receiver, who is utilized like Quinn on end arounds and sweeps. If we lose Brossette (hopefully we don't) take him as APB. I think since we only have one WR in this class, it might be best to take him as a slot receiver.

If he doesn't come here, I hope he goes to Arizona St, Oregon, or WVU. I like how they utilize their RBs in the receiving game, as much as in the running game.

Right now, our backs have a good chunk of the receptions. Some that has to do with QB taking what's underneath, some because of QB inexperience, some because play calling, and some because of lack of TE play.

The offense should be truly dynamic next year though.

No question about that! This kid has already spent years in the weight room, worked hard and paid the price, and is built solid! Those types tend to have their track speed carry over to their game speed due to their strength and compact build. I watched him run just under 10.7 FAT in the 100m at the state track meet. I have not seen him play football and am curious as to how his athleticism carries over to the gridiron, but he is an elite athlete for sure!
