In that case, yes they are.

But you'd be surprised how much money Chase "eats." It comes out in the wash because Chase takes in so much.

Why do you think they would just eat a charge instead of taking the money back from the merchant where the fraudulent charge was made?

I was agreeing with you in that certain instance.

All has to do with cost and time. Of course Chase will go to the merchants first.

On a business trip, in the Dallas airport, Wendy's charged me $572 instead of 5.72. Capital one took care of it for me
