Between 11/5/11 and 1/9/12, Miles said, we beat them doing this, we can do the same thing and win again. Between 11/5/11 and 1/9/12, Saban said, they beat us with this, we're not going to let it happen again. The lesson is, stop quoting stats from game one and think that those stats will somehow work after 3 straight losses.

I'm extremely proud of the way the defense played against Ole Miss. But to think 8-16 and a 4-1 turnover margin will work again is just crazy. It's ok to be proud of the team and still be realistic about needing improvement on offense.

There's already a thread entitled "8-16 won't cut it against Alabama". Why was this one needed?

Yeah, I'm sure 4 turnovers is the first priority in the Bama game plan.

This is correct

I have said as much in a post earlier today

heres what i said

quote:

I wish that CLM would have learned from $abun and 1/9, that the best chance is to alter the identity and surprise the other team.

Stubbornly Miles won't do that. But i guess if i was making CLM's money i would do what he does to win 8-10 games a year and keep my job.

Because that thread wanted to pump sunshine without recognizing the adjustments that 1 coach made but another coach didn't make. I got tired of reading reply after reply with the stats from the first game and ignoring the stats from the next 3 games.

LSU is going to come out throwing against Alabama.

We will break tendency and get the ball out in the flat and then hit Dural and Dupree deep.

Trey Quinn is going to come up big in this game.

Then, we are going to pound them.

LSU will have something for Alabama. I am sure of it.

How can anyone talk about stats from games that haven't even taken place?

I don't understand what you are asking Miles to do?

Because they happened in 2012 - 2013

I agree. He has no TD's and he owns the national receiving record from high school currently. Kid is very smart, fast and has great hands.

My mistake. So what exactly are you saying?

This thread is really confusing.

Literally no one said that.

Year to year and the same team two months later are two completely different things anyway.

So you learned NOTHING this weekend did you? Anyone who makes absolute assumptions about a future game is an IDIOT! You and tons of others would have bet their house that 8-16 and 4-1 turnovers would have never beaten Ole Miss....but Saturday night happened. Proven wrong on Saturday and here you are on Monday making another absolute assumption about what can and cannot happen if LSU is to win.

Football games are crazy beasts and can and will defy all logic and explantion if you watch them long enough. All we can ever do is just wait till the games are played and see how they turn out. Have a little patience and a positive attitude and just enjoy whatever result occurs. No need to risk making yourself look dumb by saying "LSU cant win if "X" happens"!

I also think that we see Brandon Harris in the Alabama game - perhaps for a package or a drive rolling out on some designed runs with the pass option. They will work with him the next two weeks.

Miles/Cam are going to have some wrinkles for Saban that will break tendency and Saban will not be ready for it. And, now that Chavis has his defense back, he is going to take Kffin to school.

This might be a watershed game for LSU. If we can cut down on mistakes and execute well, I think that LSU could win this game going away.

Yards Per Rush:

11/5/11: 3.6
1/9/12: 1.4
11/3/12: 2.8
11/9/13: 1.4

So, who thinks LSU can average 2 yards per rush on 77 carries and have 8 completions and beat Bama?

The point I was trying to make is that those people that are quoting stats from 11/5/11 and saying that LSU will win again with those stats is crazy. Or as you would say, they are IDIOTS!!!

That might be true. Even if it's not bringing Harris off the bench, I would expect some things we haven't seen lately. We tried some interesting plays against NMSU, but I guess the coaches figured they weren't ready for prime time. The bye might allow us to work on some surprises.

Even though we didn't get touchdowns (that run around the end was so close though), what ultimately succeeded in the 2011 game is Alabama didn't prepare for the kind of plays that we called for JJ (or at least they were not as prepared as they should have been). I'm about 99.9% sure they prepared for both QBs between the end of their season and the bowl game.
