Wish list for a better Maverick Thermometer

I'd love for it to be somehow connected with a phone app. Would love to be able to monitor both the pit and the meat from more than 300 feet away. I was at an event yesterday and although I knew the fire and pork butt were doing well, I would have liked to have monitored it the entire time. Could have bolted home if anything was amiss.
An app would also be able to supply a graph for the time and temperature progression, including the infamous stall with pork butts. Would be nice to track how long each sized chunk of meat takes to cook for future cooks.
Also, the alarm needs to be louder. I found myself sleeping through it the other day.

Except that the iGrill is a piece of shite thermometer compared to the Maverick.

You could get a Stoker [ BBQ Stoker]
or BBQ Guru also makes a wifi enabled temp controller.
I have the Stoker and can monitor the fire and adjust temperature remotely.

quote:Sweet. I clicked on the link and it showed a pic of a cooked ribeye. Not sure that one would need a thermometer system to cook a ribeye. Thanks for the info.
iGrill

So there appears to be an igrill2 which is potentially fantastic… The original igrill did get bad reviews. Hopefully the 2 resolved those issues and is good to go. So far, no reviews on amazon. I’ll wait and maybe ask for one for Christmas…
