In the era of just about everyone adapting a spread wide open offenses the rant, commentators and sports writers had written this team and coaching staff off. Everyone said we needed to adapt and spread it out to compete. Instead we doubled down on what has won over 80% of the games in the past decade. Played great defense and ran the ball I form on all but one play, going play action for a touchdown. Both lines played mean and nasty last night. Loved every minute.

We are a power offense. We will always be a power offense. It's
just not les miles ball. It's LSU ball.

I am pretty sure the majority of people who wanted that were basing it on how bad the defense has played and the Oline looking really weak. If our defense keeps playing the way they did last and the OLine is that tuff then I have no problem with ground and pound. Keep the ball away from the other teams offense and control the game.

horseshite. People here for the past decade had avatars with chip Kelly, Kevin sumlin (when he was at Houston), kliff kingsbury etc in Lsu gear wanting them over miles.

We actually won by throwing to the TE. Which is what many have been asking for.

This and the o-line play was more aggressive. I saw some tackles pulling and making nice blocks. And Magee gets a lot of yards because he is a passing and running threat. LF's catch was important as well... the throw was spot on.

Also, letting our runners stay in for long strings of plays was important.

False. 13 play drive. 12 of those rushing. They could've lined up and ran dive plays. That line was not going to be denied the endzone.

None of this discredits the statement that people wanted wanted the ball to be spread around in the passing game.

I'm pretty sure we had a formation with 1 wide receiver and I'm 100%sure stokes was the only receiving option in that play. I don't think that is what people wanted.
