My apartment complex has 2 assigned spots per apartment and a handful of blank spots. Most apartments here have 3 residents, and some have 2. The blank spots aren't usually all taken, but some days it is impossible to find a parking spot (e.g. game days, Thursday nights, etc.).

So this guy parked his motorcycle in a blank spot 3 weeks ago and has not moved it. I'm starting to think he has a car and uses that spot for storage. He parked it in the middle of the spot, so you can't even share it with his bike. I don't want to tow the guy, because that's not cool, but I don't think he will see a note because he doesn't move it.

Would it be illegal to get a bunch of people to pick it up and move it over? Any other ideas?

Also, his motorcycle is bright red and has a decal that says "freak show" on the front windshield.

Do it. I'd also suggest letting someone else take the spot, just in case.

he is not parked illegally, so it sounds like you are SOL.

fwiw, i had the same situation at my apartment about a month ago, but the bike was parked in the "super spot" (the closest to the building) for about a month and one day it wasnt there so i parked in it.

the dude put a note on my truck asking if i moved his bike

turns out, the maintenance crew moved it so they could paint the lines.

If we do it, I might leave a note that says "It was either this, or having you towed. You're welcome."

I just don't want to get in trouble for messing with another person's vehicle, which is why I'm unsure of what to do. Towing seems a little bit extreme though.

That's pretty funny.

Yeah, this spot is pretty convenient for a lot of people that live around my apartment. It's so annoying. I want to leave a note asking him to move it, but he wouldn't see it unless he was going to move it. Paradox

Get friends and alcohol. I know if I was hanging out at your house drinking and you said "hey let's move this motorcycle" I'd do it.

Friends and booze.

I can call my uncle for you. He has some property along a parade route. There's a chain at the entrance to the property with a "no parking" sign on it. One year some douche parked his BMW right in front of the driveway.

My uncle hooked a chain up to the BMW and drug it across the street with his truck.

That is awesome.

I like the booze and friends motorcycle move idea. Both of those things will be plentiful this weekend. We can make an event out of it. Muahahhaha.

How exactly would you have him towed? It does not appear that he is illegally parked.

Good point. I guess we might not be able to. I know you're not allowed to park boats in our complex. Maybe there's a rule about taking up a whole spot with a motorcycle?

It just seems stupid that this little thing (that you could easily park in your own spot along with your primary vehicle) is taking up an entire spot that people without motorcycles need to use.

Tell the office it is a vehicle that hasn't moved in a long time. We tag cars that stay stationary.

I'm pretty sure we've tagged a motorcycle before

If the complex does not have specified motorcycle parking, I am pretty sure there is not going to be a rule against it.

You can fit a truck and a motorcyle in your parking spots with room to get out when people park on either side?

Call the apartment complex and tell them about it. If he is a resident, they'll know his tag # and tell him to move it. Most places do not allow long-term parking in their lots, otherwise you'd have a bunch of broken down cars parked everywhere

I'm not understanding how this is so hard

Set the bike on fire. That will make your point.
