So the Saints play Sunday night and then have to turn around and play Thursday night on the road I think. That is brutal scheduling.

Broncos got to stay home, so that's 1 day of extra work.

We have to hit the road, losing a day.

That is a big difference on a short week.

It's the middle of the season. Running a few extra routes 1 day isn't gonna make much of a difference. Just game plan.

At least it will be a good excuse to use for when they don't make the playoffs

Yea but the game plan is kind of a big deal, and that's alot of stuff to go over in just 4 days, especially from a two very contrasting teams like GB to Carolina..........I would have thought that the playing Sunday afternoon or especially Sunday night would exempt teams from the Thursday night game, not too good of scheduling on the NFL, epsecially with all the "player safety & wellness is our #1 goal"

Whether the Saints have 3 days (Carolina) or 14 days (Detroit) between games, they'll still lose every road game.

Is it just me or do we play on the road for almost all Thursday games?

It's more about rest than gameplan. An extra day of rest in the NFL is a big deal. These guys aren't robots.

the plan is to have all of drew's family in the locker room for halftime that way he can get some of his family time out of the way for the upcoming week so he can focus on carolina and make up for a lost day.

It's a week after the bye..... They are rested. If they can't physically get ready, oh well. Then they have 10 days rest before the following game--it all balances.

Except that it is a divisional game against the Panthers
