Can't hold him....but that is assault by bodily fluids. Call the fuzz is the best answer. At least have a report done. Now kid thinks it is OK even more since he received zero consequences.

Yep. Had a situation years ago where a kid, 13, was physically assaulting daughter on school bus. He also assaulted the wife the next day at the bus stop. I showed up the next day and there was a "heated" verbal assault between him and me. Had a friend who was a lawyer in juvi court. He said whatever I do, don't hit him. The law would put my arse in jail quicker than the kid.
We had the law go talk to him and his parents. No charges were filed. No more trouble. We moved to the country to get out of the cesspool of the school system of the big city.

I think the world would be a better, and less fatally violent, place if you could beat the shite out of kids like that from time to time when they are clearly begging for it. But, nobody listens to me.

You did get punked, but there's nothing you could have done that would have kept you from going to jail.
I, would have called the police and report seeing a kid with his exact description checking car doors in peoples driveways. You rolled window and asked if you could help him, and he spit on you, then rolled off on his skateboard. Maybe a squad car comes by, and it's a dickhead cop that shakes him down a little.
