Holy Crap! I'm pretty sure he was being nice to you and was going to send you free fishing stuff because you enjoy fishing with your daughter. I don't think he was being an arse, at least I don't think he was.
Hell BooDreaux, to get this on the right track... my daughter is 3 and I plan on taking her fishing at some local lakes/ponds here in the Dayton area. It is obviously fresh water and she's a little one. What you recommend for her to use in your opinion (rod, etc.). Thanks!

If I remember correctly he's sent other posters fishing items since they enjoy the outdoors with their kids. It has nothing to do with what you, her, or your dad is using.

I think you took it the wrong way.. I've seen a couple times on here when people post pics of getting their kids involved he sends some baits out to them. I don't think he was hating on the rod/reel.. I think he genuinely wanted to send you some baits for your kid to fish with.

I am almost positive he was just being nice, maybe as part of a kids fishing program or something.
On a related note, and not to be inflammatory at all I promise, is that a spring on that rod? If so, I have never seen anything like that, it looks neat. Really, it does.

Print it out and go get a cool frame with a mat, you can make a cool looking piece and give to him for Fathers Day next year
